English Composition 3

What is this class? I'm in the chemistry major, and this is listed as one of the preparations for the major. However, I've passed the AP language and Composition Test with a 4, which satisfies English Composition Writing 1 requirement. So I take it that I have to still take English Composition 3?

Edit.
Reading the course listings for english composition, undergraduates, it states for 3. English Composition, Rhetoric, and Language, the Completion of course with a grade of C or better satisfies Writing I requirement. Letter grading. Am I correct to assume that they mean english composition 3 basically IS the writing I requirement, and that I don't need to take it any longer?

You don’t need to take English Comp 3. But you do need to take a writing II.

According to this website, http://www.registrar.ucla.edu/GE/GE-LSFr08-09.pdf</a> the writing II seminar class has been suspended for current students. Does that mean I don’t actually need to anymore?

You use to need 2 writing II classes (either both writing or one writing and one seminar). But now you only need 1 writing II class.

So yes, you still need it.

The only way you can get out of taking a writing II (as far as I’m concerned), is by taking it at a community college.
