A number of medical schools require 1 year of English (in addition to the usual undergrad science courses). If you are applying at the end of your junior year, and you have not yet completed the full year of English (say, you have only once semester of English on your transcript and are planning to take the second semester in your senior year), is that a problem? Do schools assume you will complete their requirements and give you a conditional admit? Or is it a waste of time to apply if you don't have all the required coursework on your transcript? Finally, what if you are taking the class but don't have a grade for it at the time your transcript is submitted?

Nope - you’ll just have to take it prior to starting med school at that school.

Pre-reqs must be complete by the first day of medical school.
