On the McGill website, it says the minimum standards for applicants to the Faculty of Arts is a B+ average in 11th grade and 12th grade English. I've been kind of worried about this since I received a "B" in 11th grade AP Language & Composition, and this year in AP Literature I might only end up with a C+ for the semester grade. AP English courses are incredibly unforgiving here: even with my low B grade last year, I received a 5 on the AP Language & Composition exam.

Do you think the "B" grade will kill my chances? I have just requested my AP report to be sent to McGill (with a 5 in Lang and a 4 in US History and French), do you think this will help?

The rest of my grades are good (B+ or better in all my other APs), and my SAT scores are alright (740 reading, 720 math, 700 writing).

yeah i was wondering as well. for example, would they look at AP and honors english courses differently? english at my school is ridiculously easy at the honors level (i had about a 105 % junior year, haha) but because i challenged myself and took AP which is really hard and am only going to earn a B or B+, am i going to be penalized?

I heard it isnt a big deal. and that you should probably be fine.
I might be getting a B+ this semester in AP lang, but WE.
I got A in both semesters of 11th grade english, an A last semester for lang, and I just took my final for this semester of AP lang now. Just hopin i did well enough to get an A (i had an 89.9, but because of the final's weighting i needed to get a 96% to get an A- in the class...although i might have second grace because there was a big essay due last week that hasnt been graded yet...hoping i got an A on it)
