English Guy Picking US College! Help!

Hahaha, thank you bro, although this place looks lovely, have axed it due to that. Thank you again

How about U of Miami weather?

LSU looks great for Greek life/sports, so does Texas, large schools with school spirit also looks nice. Thank you

I won’t fly back to London for the whole year, but it sounds great to have good national flights t explore other parts of the USA, when I have breaks.

So much love for those 4 unis, definitely on my list, never heard of chapel hill before I posted, so it’s nice to know it’s an admired place. Thank you!

Thank you! I have axed all of these!

Haha, I was joking about the citizenship part. I love all beautiful women, American’s are my preference. But don’t mind a mix

This is interesting, thank you.

Also, LSU does seem like it offers an extremely unique experience, so it definitely a candidate.

Hey! Thanks for the reply. That would be lovely to pick anywhere, but unfortunately this isn’t a list I composed. This is my universities list of study abroad partners.

Nothing is too far as I’ll be there for the year and won’t visit London during that time.

I’ve crossed Rutgers off, thank you!

Thank you! This has helped massively reduce my list!

Unfortunately, this isn’t my list. It’s my universities list of study abroad partners

I made a citizenship joke, sorry for the confusion. I do not have this attitude. I’m just lookikg for a good time with good people!

I’m going to watch it tonight! Thanks haha

These are both top choices, can I ask which one you’d pick out of the two? Thank you so much

Hey mate, thanks for your reply, I’m sure they aren’t but they sure as hell do have fun when they get to college

Per everybody’s recommendation, further research, and what fits my criteria.
This is an updated list.

Thank you guys so much, I asked this on the UK equivalent of CC and had no luck, as nobody knows much about US colleges first hand. So glad I found this site.

Arizona State University
University of California:
Berkeley
Irvine
Santa Cruz
San Diego
UCLA
University of Colorado
Florida State University
Louisiana State University
University of Miami (Florida)
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
University of Texas
Tulane University

Start thinking about your priorities to help narrow down the list further:

  • Ease/cost of travel within the US
  • Campus in a city or more of a college town
  • Strength of academics in your major

Personally I would eliminate Santa Cruz, Irvine, Louisiana State, and FSU from your list.

Thank you, looking at things like this helps further eliminate options!

UCLA. It has everything from beaches, SoCal weather, snow skiing 1.5 hours away, lots of CA females, Hollywood, Malibu, short flights to SF Bay Area as well as a great academic compliment to your current college education. Once in the states, go see NYC for a long weekend.

Enjoy!

University of Colorado - very nice school, nice city, great for skiing and snowboarding nearby, Denver is close by, we have a house there, but it snows 5 or 6 months out of the year. Probably not what you’re looking for, weather wise.

UCLA seems solid, so versatile, skiing to beaches, wildlife is crazy, close to Some awesome places. And like you said solid academic reputation, although not a priority for me, definitely not a bad thing. UCLA is very high up for me
