ok, so what do you guys do to improve your engllish, as in how do you imprive in writing essays, vocabulary, reading and all those stuff related to english

do you guys have tutors, or something? or do you just read books all the time

i'm not a big fan of books, i only read when i am forced to, but i do read basketball magazines

yeah man. my writing skills SUCKED freshman year, and i'm happy to say that i'm a much writer now that i'm a senior. i noticed improvement every year. so keep your hopes up!

Yeah, you'll learn different things from different teachers, which makes it hard to determine which teacher to listen to. Good luck judging that one because my freshmen english teacher really tried to put me on the wrong track in writing.

just read...i used to hate reading too, but u just need the right book to get urself interested, it'll come in time... but hopefully not too late

should i have a english tutor or not? and i'm born in usa, california, i just notice that the essays i write, are plain, such as, i dont use many high leveled vocab words, and when i start my setences, it begins with like I, The, He, She, So, But, it just makes my essay look planin and boring to read

just read books....and learn which teachers look for which writing styles, and then just alter what you write to fit their standards if you want good grades...I hate when I have to do that but that's what works. If you read a good variety of books, you will become used to more complex sentence structures and eventually you will use them naturally.

Read. Read. Read. You'll eventually pick up vocabulary that you can then use in your writing. You develop your own writing style and your reading comprehension will improve.

In any case, I wouldn't use "big words" in essays just for the heck of using them. (It makes you look silly, too, if you use them out of context.) If your essay is "plain", maybe you should work on varying sentence structure first instead of the vocabulary.

When you read, keep a dictionary nearby. Look up words that you don't know and make up ways to remember them. Or make flashcards. Try to incorporate some of those words into your school assignments.
