So our course planners for junior year came out today, and they're introducing a new combo course. It is a English Language and Composition and English Literature and Composition in one full year one period class. I don't know a whole lot about it yet as we got the course planners today, but I do know that if I take it I'm required to take the two AP English exams and I will go to a post-AP class senior year. Here's the course description:

ENGLISH LANGUAGE - LITERATURE AND COMPOSITION AP
Required
Full year single period daily one credit Prerequisite: Departmental approval
This full-year intensive college-level course for juniors covers the curricula of AP English Language and Composition and AP English Literature and Composition. The course engages students in becoming skilled readers of prose written in a variety of periods, disciplines, and rhetorical contexts, and in becoming accomplished writers who compose for a variety of purposes. During the year, students study several modes of discourse including letters, speeches, essays, biographies, newspaper articles, literary criticism, legal documents, and academic research. They gain experience both responding to and writing personal, argumentative, expository, and analytical prose. Students also enhance their skills in writing, thinking, and discussing through research and analysis of world literature, poetry, authors, writing styles and elements.

If it helps, here are the other classes I'm planning on taking next year:

Band
Calculus AB AP
Statistics AP (supposedly a joke AP class)
Spanish IV Honors (I heard it's very easy)
Biology Honors (really easy compared to Chemistry Honors, which I am taking this year); (double period once a week)
Micro/Macroeconomics AP (two semester courses)
Computer Science Honors (another joke class)

and then English Language-Literature and Composition AP
