Can someone define Tone, Diction, and Syntax for me?
Thanks

Tone is essentially how the author’s voice is portrayed. For example, a scary story might have a menacing tone, while a story about the rugrats will have a light/cheery tone.

Diction is word choice; what words the author uses, and more importantly for the exam, how they contribute to the overall effect.

Syntax is basically how the words are arranged in the sentence.
