English Literature or US History?

I guess I'm kind of stuck in making this decision. My first subject is Math II, and my second subject has to be either US history or English literature. I can't take any of the sciences, and I've been told that english literature would be easier as compared to US history. I have not taken any literature classes, neither have I studied US history before. I'll have to do start both of them from ground level, so which one is easier?

I would say US history because if you live in united states, you already have a general idea of how things went and focus on memorizing dates for important stuff and know every little detail not by memorizing just have an idea about it

Do you live in a country other than the US? If you have to start US History from scratch, it would probably be a lot to cover and you would have to take a lot of time to read and review all the material. Literature is very skills-based, and while you can spend time practicing the passages, it will depend largely on the skills you’ve acquired over the years in analyzing and reading literature.

Personally, I would choose US History as it is easier to study for, and has a more generous curve. It is certainly easier to score well on; it would just take a lot of time to prepare.
