Hi
SO, after three miserable years of high school I have finally established that I am not going to study anything related to math or science. However, I am quite comfortable with English and would have no problem in studying it in college.
My question is, what do schools look for in a student that applies as an English (or related) major? For example, applying to a school like UC Berkeley for English: how would they view a student who has constantly gotten C's and B's in college prep science and math, but has done reasonably well in Honors English courses, scored high on AP tests, SATs, and others related to English? Do they want a student who has taken a science/math all 4 years of high school, and has done well in those classes? Or do they look for classes that show interest in English/literature/etc.? I'm am planning on taking AP English next year and taking all relevant AP tests/SAT IIs.

Here's my grades from the last two years of high school (I'm currently a junior).
[COURSE - 1st Semester/ 2nd Semester]
9th Grade
Geometry: C/C
Honors English: B/B
Honors Bio: C/- Dropped 2nd sem., switched to regular and got an A
Concert Band: A/A
Geography/Health: A/A

Marching Band: A/-

Jazz Band: -/A

10th Grade
Alg2/Trig: C/C
Honors English: B/A
Chem: B/B
World History: A/A
Spanish 2: A/A
CB: A/A
MB: A/-

JB: -/A

I haven't taken the SAT I yet, but I have taken several practice tests and constantly score in the 600 range in math, 660 range in CR, and 760 range in writing.

Yeah, pretty awful. How the heck did I screw up so bad?
Not only that, I've gotten 3 B's and only 1 A in English, and I fear that may not be good enough even to major in English.
Currently I'm taking: Precalc, US Hist., AP Statistics, Honors English, Orchestra, and all those band classes previously mentioned. Yeah, I have no science class this year. Is that bad? What is the best school that will accept me at this point for English? I screwed up didn't I? Or am can I still attend a relatively good school? I'm thinking that maybe after studying English, etc. for undergrad i can go to law school? That doesn't require math or science.
Please help. im FREAKING out.
