I am currently an English major enrolled at a community college and have received a 5 on the AP English Language and Composition exam. On assist.org it states that all English majors need to complete all of the Pre-reqs for a letter grade (with foreign language as an exception).

However, on the preparation for the english major section of the UCLA English Department's website it states the same thing (The Prep courses for the English and American Literature and Culture majors must be taken for a letter grade, and students must receive a grade of "C" or higher in each of the courses) but under English Comp 3 it states that my AP score would give me credit for the course. Does this mean that I do not have to take the equivalent for English Comp 3 at my community college as I have satisfied the requirement with my AP score? I was told that the lower division major stipulations are the same for UCLA and community college students (so taking the equivalent to English Comp 3 would be a waste of time/units) but I'm still confused.

this site seems designed for people in my situation and seems to say that the score satisfies it. I just want to be 100% sure so I do not find out too late that I needed to take the course.
