<p>I want to major in English Lit and was wondering if anyone would be willing to share their own specific experiences or offer recommendations as to which school would be a good fit. I'm looking at top schools all over the country and I'm especially interested in American literature. I'm looking for a school with attentive and insightful professors, a strong work ethic among students, and a particularly strong English program that isn't stuffed with fluff courses. I know that applies to a lot of schools, I'm kind of just looking for some inside information to validate (or dispute) the claims on most schools' websites. Thank you!</p>

You should look at mainly liberal arts colleges and universities.</p>
