English program at UCLA?

<p>I just asked basically the same thing in the Cornell thread, but I'm considering applying to UCLA this year and I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the strength of its English department. What are the professors like, what is average workload, and how is the atmosphere in the English department in general?</p>
