<p>I get most of the usage/mechanics questions right, but when it comes to rhetorical skills I tend to get the questions at the end of paragraphs wrong.
i.e.:
Suppose the writers goal had been to write a brief persuasive essay urging students to exercise their constitutional rights. Would this essay fulfill that goal? </p>
<p>OR</p>
<p>If the writer were to delete the preceding sentence, the paragraph would primarily lose:</p>
<p>Is there anything I can do to improve my chances on those questions? I've read over the rhetoric sections of Barrons and PR, but apparently it has not helped. </p>
<p>I keep getting around 6 wrong on the rhetoric part on English practice tests due to the above questions. </p>
<p>Any help?</p>
