It’s frowned upon by UCSB.

My daughter took BOTH her English requirements in the spring, after applications were submitted. She was admitted to UCB, UCSD and UCSB.

She wasn’t a TAG or IGETC, and in fact was coming from a four year, not a California CC.

There are a lot of people who say things like “you should transfer to a CC first, then a UC since CC students have priority”. Or they say things like “you have to have both your English classes done in the fall.”

Not necessarily true.

Do it when it fits in your schedule. I took the second (third?) half of mine during Winter (grades not on the app update), and still got in everywhere I applied (UCB, UCSD, UCI, UCSC)… I don’t think it makes a huge difference. If they do care about your grade in it, they can always throw it in with the conditions of acceptance.

aah such a relief reading these…just like OP, I still have to take Critical Thinking…left it for spring
I also talked to a counselor today and she said it’s cool, u just have to mention in you app that you are going to take it for spring
