This has come up in a few instances while taking a practice test, and I can't remember whether or not I determined what the answer to my question was.
If there is an underlined part of a paragraph and the answer choices include a dash or parentheses, is the second, closing dash or parentheses implied if you pick that option? Or you should only pick to put in a dash or parentheses if the second one is already there later in the sentence?
For example: (i'm just making this up- the part in parentheses is underlined)
1. Jenny's favorite things to (do, playing) hopscotch, singing, and playing catch, were all planned for the weekend.

Answers:
A: do- playing
B: do (playing
C. do, which include playing

Like, can I choose A or B even though it doesn't show the closing punctuation for the dash or parentheses? Or do I need to choose C?

Sorry if this doesn't make any sense.
