i just took engineering 101 first semester and hated it. i hated programming as a whole and would like to avoid it next semester and my next four years. I plan on being an ioe major. is there any engr 101 class that will not relate to programming and be relatively easy.

If you’re looking for easy classes this soon you’re in for a world of hurt next year.

im not necessary looking for an easy course, just pretty much one that doesnt have any programming involved… any suggestions??

What language are you coding in and what sort of programs are you writing?

im doing c++ and we just started matlab which isnt as bad, i know i will probably have to use matlab later, but i was just wondering if anyone had advice on which class would be good

Is the problem the subject matter or is the problem the professor? I would think that an introductory level C++ class for engineers is not that hard because its rudimentary. Maybe you would feel better about it by taking it from another instructor next term or seeing what the alternatives are, like taking the regular Computer Science department C++ intro programming class, as opposed to the Engineers’ basic C++ class.

Most of the 100 section at umich don’t have programming. Just avoid the handful that do… Microprocessors and music/toys and gaming for the greater good certainly have a high programming load. I don’t think any of the others do.

By the way, as an IOE you’ll be taking IOE 373. That’s a programming class. :-)

Good luck!
