I was in the marines for four years, got awards for leadership etc. This is my only work experience. I'm about to finish my 5 year BS/MS in accounting degree.

Will my military experince before college help or hurt my chances of getting into an MBA program from say a NCSU or GT type of school.

I think it’ll depend on your other qualifications such as GPA and GMAT. For the second-tier schools, I think they look less on WE and more on scores.
While schools look favorably on applicants w/ military experience, those applicants are officers. I think if you are a platoon sgt or above, it’ll show leadership. If you were a squad lead after 5 years, I think it’ll have a negative impact.

why not work for a couple years? get your cpa? you should be able to find something fairly easily with your education, again if you gpa is decent. then look at b school after that. you’d be a more attractive candidate no matter what. and despite the leadership that the military teaches us, it’s hard to demonstrate that you held a significant leadership position in the military in such a short time- four years isn’t really that long. e-4? e-5 mabye?
