Tryin' to get into: Lehigh,Lafayette,TCNJ, Muhelnberg--going for premed

Would you say these extracurriculars are enough (be brutally honest if you have to...):

Grades 9-12: NIKE Club member (community service organization), worked at an assisted living home on Saturdays since middle of freshman year.

Grades 10-11: member of Yearbook Committee
Grade 12: Editor-in-Chief of Yearbook Comittee (was announced at end of this year)

Grades 9-10,12: ski club member

Summers Grades 9-12: Day camp counselor for 7-9 year old boys

I know it's not much...yearbook tends to be a major commitment since it's alll year

What do you think?

They’re not bad but not great. The yearbook committee is pretty solid and the camp counselor part shows good dedication, but community service throughout high school is pretty much expected of you and the ski club does not sound much like a legitimate, time-consuming activity.

But you shouldn’t be worrying about just your extracurriculars. If you want to know what your chances for getting into the schools are, you should post more information like your GPA, test scores, etc.

OK…

GPA: 3.80 UW, 4.67/5.3 W
SAT: 2060 (740M 650CR 670W)
SAT IIs: Math II- 670, Chem- 700
AP’s: Chem-5, Euro-4, English Lang-4

Took mostly honors/AP classes
Class Rank- not given at my school, but my guidance counselor says I’m in the top 10% for sure.
Ethicity- White
Background- live in NJ, mom has a bachelors in psychology, dad is a dentist

Ask if there is any other necessary info…

Your GPA, test scores and class rank seem to indicate you have a good chance of getting into those schools. Lafayette and Lehigh are good match schools at this point; I’m not too familiar with the other two.

If you’re concerned about your extracurriculars, this summer would be a great time to start thinking about what your activities mean to you. Plan some great essays and you’ll be in great shape.
