Enrichment Programs on the Common App

On the Common App, there is an area reserved for any enrichment programs done on a college campus. I'm assuming this is only applicable for the 4 years of high school. Correct?

Also, I'm assuming Stanford's EPGY Summer Institutes count as an enrichment program. Correct?

You should list EPGY as an enrichment program. I did a Columbia summer program after sophomore year which I think is similar and I’m listing that in the same college campus/enrichment programs spot.

Question - If summer college programs belong under enrichment, would we list it again on the colleges we’ve taken credit-courses from?

It depends what college program you’re talking about. If it’s just taking enrolling in a college course during the summer, then no, you wouldn’t put it under enrichment; you’d put it under “colleges we’ve taken credit courses from.” If it’s something like a Summer at Yale or at Stanford, like the OP, then yes. I wouldn’t list them in both places though.

I’ve never done EPGY but I’ve heard that there are online courses. If so, would it still be applicable to list those online EPGY courses under that section?

I’ve done a CTY online course (on-campus CTY courses are located at Hopkins and other places) but I don’t know if that would count.

Has anyone run into problems because they have put a summer enrichment course that was hosted on a college campus under the colleges section on the common app? D listed her summer enrichment course in that college section and the university she applied to had no way of understanding that it was a summer enrichment program hosted on a college campus versus a real, for-credit summer class. The college now wants her to send transcripts, which don’t exist for the summer enrichment program. It’s creating a real hassle. I was wondering whether this has happened to anyone else.

what is the enrichment program?

FYI–when the online application launches on August 1, there will be additional instructions to help you determine how to classify these types of programs.
