If I enrolled in a class but don't want to take it anymore (due to the horrible reviews the professor and class got mainly), what is the best way to go about switching? Should I put myself on a waitlist for a class right now? (Is that even possible?) Or do I have to wait to drop it once I actually get to UCLA and then try to enroll in a newly-open class? Thanks for any advice. :)

Aren’t you able to drop the class from URSA? You could wait for a newly-open class, but putting yourself on the waitlist sounds like a better choice. You can always drop that too if you find something better.

And don’t be overly trusting of Bruinwalk.

You can drop/add classes whenever you want right now and add up to 20 units. Some people sign up for like 5-6 classes just to keep their options open then drop the first week the one they don’t want to be in.

Drop deadline ranges from 2nd to 4th week depending on whether it is an impacted class or not.

Thanks, guys! So would I be able to enroll in a class that has a time conflict with the class I’m considering dropping?

Yea, you can override time conflicts in ursa.

Thanks! But then I wouldn’t be able to actually attend both classes during the first week, huh? Hmmm…and what are the chances I’ll get off at least one waitlist if I sign up for like 5 or 6 classes to keep my options open?

Is there anywhere you can see how many people are already on the waitlist?

^Nevermind, I found it on URSA. But the class is one I’m already in a different discussion section for. So I can’t be put on the waitlist…how likely is it that I’ll get in off the waitlist for this discussion section? It has 20 enrollment cap, 5 waitlist cap, and only 1 person on the waitlist. Please let me know ASAP. Thank you.

Usually the top 10% get accepted in the waitlist, and it also depends on the teacher.
