I need some input on what college I should choose and any helpful advice would be appreciated.

I just found out that I got accepted into Cal last week and was rather excited about getting in. My target school was LA as I currently work as a server in Brentwood (about 2 miles from UCLA) and most of my involvement with the labor movement and local unions is in LA.

My future goals are to attend any one of the top 8 Law schools focusing on Labor and Constitutional law and start working/interning for one of the top labor firms in CA that I am connected with right after I graduate.

I was initially pleased at my acceptance with LA and was almost completely set on submitting my SIR until I found out about Berkeley. An associate of mine was going to connect me with one of the main lobbyist out in sacramento to intern for him while going to CAL during the fall and I was seriously considering going up North. But now I found out that I would not be able to start taking courses until Spring 2012. This would set me behind by a whole semester along with leaving my with little school to attend to for the next couple of months.

Now I have to choose if I want to stay connected in LA and start in the fall, or to wait until spring and start fresh with a handful of connections and in a new area.

any thoughts would be much appreciated!

Also if you have any questions regarding my acceptances please let me know.

Eeeeh…I vote Berkeley. Might be good to take a semester off and work. Congrats, btw!

The one semester delay is no big deal in the scheme of your life, so don’t use it as a make or break criteria. Pick the UC that you want to attend.
