How much is the enrollment deposit? For EA admitted students-- is it better to just pay the enrollment and submit the housing even if you're not 100% sure about attending Carolina?
(Is there any advantage to applying to housing early?)

No advantage to apply early. As long as you apply by the deadline, you’ll be fine. And definitely don’t send enrollment deposits to multiple schools. If the schools find out, they can renege your acceptance.

i think if you pay you have to go…so i wouldn’t pay until you fully know if you are going or not

NOT true about having to attend if you accept and send your deposit! My “D” was accepted to UNC, sent her deposit, and had planned on going there until a 1st choice wait list school came through at the last minute. UNC had no problem and said it happens frequently. In fact , your deposit is refundable if withdrawn before May 1st.

There is no benefit to UNC Housing by paying your deposit early, so long as it is in by May 1st. If you are considering Granville - applying early there is beneficial only if you hope to get a limited parking spot as a freshman.
