I am an accepted transfer student. I already clicked ACCEPT to accept the offer and now its just waiting on me to pay the enrollment deposit. I am nearly certain I would qualify for an enrollment deposit waiver.

How do you get one of those, when do they let you know about them, and how do you use it when you get it?

You do realize that the deposit is due on May 1st?

You cannot wait on them to send you a deposit waiver. They’ve already sent information concerning deposit waivers. I received info on mine about three weeks ago.

Check the Office of F-Aid’s hours and call them ASAP!

Here’s the email I received concerning the waiver:

"Congratulations on your on your admission to the University of Virginia! I am writing today to let you know that you qualify to have your $400 admission deposit waived if you choose to accept our offer of admission.

To apply your deposit waiver and accept your offer of admission today, simply:

Log on to the Student Information System (SIS) here.
Scroll down to click “View Decision”
Click on the “Accept Admission” button

Please do not pay your fee when the system directs you to pick a method of payment for the tuition deposit. We will simply process your waiver once you have clicked the Accept Admission button. You may continue to see the message You owe $400 for up to 2-3 business days, but please do not take further action.

Please note, if you pay the fee before receiving this message, we will unfortunately be unable to reimburse your payment. I am happy to be available by email and phone should you have any questions or concerns. Watch for more information from us about our Days on the Lawn programs, possible contact from current students and more all of which will help you explore UVA and decide if it is the place for you!"

Do not follow these instructions if you have not been informed about a waiver.

I’m wondering too, angels4kali. I might just shoot them an e-mail or maybe call them up about it. I’m grateful that UVA accepted me, but $400 is a lot of money considering I come from a low-income family.
