I have been accepted into a couple colleges and I have not commited by paying the enrollment deposit yet. I am still not sure which college I want to go to yet. I have submitted the FAFSA and my CSS profile online already.
Do I need to submit my enrollment deposits to the colleges before the schools can process the financial aid information and tell me how much aid they will give me?

No. In fact one of the things you will USE to determine where you will eventually enroll (and pay a deposit) is the financial aid you receive from the schools.

You have done the right thing…submitted your FAFSA and Profile to any school where you hope to receive a financial aid package. If you did this before completing your 2010 taxes, just don’t forget to get those done ASAP and then amend the forms to reflect the numbers from you 2010 tax returns (and change the filing status to “taxes completed”).

Also check to be sure you have sent the schools ALL required documentation to complete your financial aid application.

And then you wait…good luck to you!!

Not paying an enrollment deposit will hold up things like orientation - which usually isn’t until summer (although there are exceptions) and that can wait until you find out where you can afford to attend.
