Hi everyone, today I learned that I’ve been admitted to Cornell Engineering after having been deferred Early Decision.
I was so convinced I would not gain acceptance that I put in a deposit at the University of Michigan, under the impression that it was not a commit, and that if I changed my mind I would be in the loop. Now I’m not sure. Is there a way I can respectfully go about resolving this? I understand I will almost certainly lose the deposit. Right now I feel a bit like an idiot and was wondering if anyone could help me out, thank you.
Congrats. If you want to go to Cornell then send in your deposit and inform UM that you will not be attending. It happens all the time. You should expect to lose the deposit at UM.
