Enrollment drop

I was startled to see consecutive (Fall 2014 and Fall 2015) 15% shortfalls in the number of enrolled Allegheny freshmen. Instead of ~570 new, full-time, first-time freshmen, it was 473 and 489.

Does anyone know what’s behind that? I did see one reference to some admissions system failure, but wonder if there is something else going on.

TIA

Derp, just found this which perhaps provides the answer.

Question remains - is there anything this article doesn’t say? Just concerned that there is an unspoken systemic/reputation/financial problem.

This should shed some light…

Thanks. Their stats on the class of 2020 should come out in the fall… bears close watching.

Good news - 593 seems to be the number of new kids plus transfers.
