Am I to understand this correctly that you must enroll before submitting a housing application?

If so, is there any problem with backing out later if my daughter decides to attend a different school? For example, does that have any impact on her ability to enroll at another school if she changes her mind?

At this point I believe there is about a 90% chance she will attend Cal Poly.

you are obviously a busy man, seeing as how at least one person has asked that in every thread. next time spend at least one minute searching, please.

she can retract her SIR from CP, and you get $800 of your housing deposit back (out of $823)

wootwootman thank you for your repsonse and opinion of what I should do. However, the answer you provided was in no way related to the question I asked.

Not everyone paid $823. I paid through eCheck and it’s a free service. No surcharge like with a credit card. So I paid $800. My understanding was for those who paid $800, if you cancel during the correct time frame, you’ll get all but $5.00 back. Can’t remember where I read that, though.

Re: #7 - no we are from the Sacramento area
Re: #8 - no worries, I would be bummed too. Just don’t give up. I think a lot of those on the waitlist will mistakenly just let it go. Good luck to you.
