<p>At my kids’ school, about 10 to 20 new sophomores arrive each year, bringing the class size up to about 100. The existing students are excited to meet their new classmates. At meals, whenever a new student sits down at a table with people she hasn’t met, they’ll introduce themselves. For most kids, it’s fairly easy to integrate into the class if they go to some social events and hang out with people after classes. New day students will find that eating dinner at school for the first several weeks will help with blending in.</p>
