<p>I am currently a freshman in Finance at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I'm not sure that Finance is something I want to be studying for the next few years and am considering a change in majors/schools. If I were to stay at UIUC, I would most likely transfer into engineering, which seems more interesting to me and would most likely present me with the same opportunities as a business degree.
However, I am very interested in entertainment business, specifically film and television production. I am more interested in the business aspects of these professions as opposed to the creative side, but would also be interested in learning more about cinematography and other aspects of the filmmaking process. I was wondering if anyone knew of any schools that have an undergraduate program that blends business and entertainment, while also providing a strong education that could be used in any field. Another option would be schools that offer production minors for business majors.</p>
<p>How about majoring in Advertising? or Mass Communication? No they're not cinemetography/film production, but you will probably get a good understanding of how to put together scripts, etc. Plus both are pretty good majors for a career in the business field.</p>
<p>USC has a joint major with the Marshall School of Business and the School for Cinema-Television. By the time you graduate, you have a BA in business with an emphasis in cinema-television.</p>
<p>I noticed that program but I thought it was only for incoming freshmen. I'll take a closer look at it, because USC was one of the schools I am considering.</p>
<p>look into stern. they have a entertainment, technology, and management program; which i want to get into, so maybe i shouldnt tell you....</p>
<p>I've heard a bit about the Stern program. Is it just a major you can take or is it a more selective program. I was accepted to Stern as a freshman and was offered to be a Stern Scholar so hopefully it wouldn't be too difficult to get in as a transfer.</p>
