<p>For college, should I look for a laptop with a bunch of bells and whistles or should I look for a more general, sturdy, reliable computer that may not do as much as some of the newer "entertainment" laptops out there ? About to start computer shopping, so input is much appreciated !! Thank you !</p>
<p>For college you need a computer with a decent amount of memory and HD space…and at least two USB ports…IMHO
Also something light and portable with a decent battery life.</p>
<p>You don’t want a laptop filled w/ a bunch of crap you will never use, so it’s better to get one where you can choose which programs/software you want on it and one that will last you throughout your years in college and possibly beyond.</p>
<p>If you’ve got the money, why not go all out? It’s not like the fancy computer has less capability than the boring computer. Or at least it shouldn’t.</p>
<p>I agree with papertiger87, get something that has what you’ll use. Getting one of the really nice Beats edition HP laptops is nice, but if you don’t use the included audio enhancements, then whats the point in getting it. More than anything, look for a computer that has what you need and is durable enough to last you. Anything else is really up to you.</p>
