Entrepreneur with low ACT. Chances getting into OSU?

My daughter has had a business since age 15. She has been recognized in a couple of area publications for her entrepreneurship and a recent project she did. She sent links to the articles with a description of her business to Admissions, Her highest ACT after 3 tries and prep classes is a 25 (not a good test taker). Writing scores were good- 8, 9 and 10. Writing is her strength, and her AP teacher used her common app essay as an example. Her GPA is a 3.74 at one of the top ranked public high schools in Ohio. She is involved in a number of extracurricular activities and also volunteers. Her sister is in her second year at OSU (main campus), and so she would love to join her next fall.
Ahhh.. What do you think her chances are?

OSU’s mid-50 ACT is 26-30, so you do have reason to worry. But it’s a HUGE school so the bottom 25% can’t be completely filled with athletes, there are too many slots and even the OSU football team isn’t that big. She’s got a good GPA with some other pluses, so she’s got a shot. All you can do is send it in and see what happens. But have backup options. Ohio University is the obvious one.

Thanks for your reply, MrMom62. She does have back up schools as well, but Ohio State is first choice. So far she has been accepted to Loyola, DePaul and University of Kentucky. Waiting on University of Cincinnati and Miami University.

She’ll be fine no matter what then.
