Entry Into UK Universities

Hey guys! Got an offer letter from University of Surrey. Any thoughts? Do share please.

Congratulations. It’s a good university, with some very strong departments; more STEM focussed than a lot of UK universities. Can’t comment as to whether you should accept it without knowing your other choices, your subject and hopes for the future, etc; but it’s certainly a decent option and you need have no regrets about taking it. Guildford’s not especially inspiring but a perfectly reasonable place to live; but accommodation may be pricy if you’re not in halls as it’s London commuter belt.

Okay, thanks!

So nice for you! Congratulations. If you applied to study in the UK then you are probably pretty familiar with England. It is easy to get around because it is pretty small. I don’t know why more students in the US don’t look seriously at UK schools. Congrats that you did whether or not you choose to go. College is such a great time to get out of your comfort zone and explore different options. It becomes much harder later. You can sample other places without making a commitment. Four years latter-not as easy. And it isn’t really that far. No further for east coasters than to study in California. Good luck with your decisions. (Oh, and if you take the offer, please extend my condolences to your parents. A plane ticket would make a lovely Mother’s Day present.)
