<p>are we required to take this test if we haven't already satisfied the entry level writing requirement? I don't feel like paying $110 to take the test because i'm already taking both the IB English hl test and AP lang test this week. So, my question is what will happen if i don't take the test?</p>

<p>For the entry writing requirement, technically you are supposed to take the placement in May if you have not satisified it yet, but actually there are people who do not take it in May and I think those students want to wait to see if they passed the AP English test with a 3 so they can skip the placement test. There are no punishments to waiting to take it later than May and nothing happens. This is only a placement test to determine placement in writing courses so I would recommend not to waste the money since you already paid for the AP and IB tests. The worst case scenario that could happen if you wait is that you might not be able to take Writing courses in Fall Quarter and have to wait until a later quarter because there are no spaces in the writing courses. </p>
<p>What you should do is wait for the scores to be released and if you did not pass the AP or IB tests, then you should enroll in the Placement Test. Otherwise, it is not worth the extra expense.</p>
