Ok, apparently because I got a below 680 on my SAT I writing, they're making me take this Analytical Writing Placement Examination and pay $65.00. What the heck is this? What if I don't pass??? What is the test on?

The Entry Level Writing Requirement is just a prerequisite if you want to skip remedial English classes. I understand that you're probably one of the top in your class, but they base this off of standardized testing. There really is no way to get out of it without high scores on standardized tests, even if you were like.. valedictorian of your class.

i have to take it. whatever. all the CSU's have to do something like this also.

i have a question.
on may 10th i have my regional all league swim meet. its the biggest swim meet all season and usually the one i swim the best at to qualify for the sectional meet.

i don't want to miss the meet, but the writing exam is that morning.

you can take the exam in the fall, but does that put you at a huge disadvantage? i'm just trying to weigh my priorities.

It depends when you want to take the class. You can't take the course in the Fall if you test for it in the Fall. I'm taking the class my sophomore year so I don't see a disadvantage.

Go ahead and take the test in the fall. There is no need to take the course as soon as you enter in the fall quarter. Good luck at your swim meet!

If we passed the AP Eng test or got above a 30 on the english/writing, we don't have to take it. But do we need to notify them of this, or will they automatically see it from the official scores we sent them?
