Envelope + Content + Stamps

I never really mail anything out... I'm sorry but what do most schools require you to put outside of the 9x12 or w/e envelope:

-Their Address?
-(Your name.. what if it's a recommedation letter: all I know is that Stanford wants their own labels)
- Do you indicate what type of recommendation it is outside of the envelope?

So is it two stamps that you need (just standard stamps.. doesnt matter what type?)

You need to weigh it or take it to the post office because it will be more than a stamp - my BU application was 1.75

yea just take it to a poster office and all your questions can be answered there

What about the info outside of the envelope?

(Do the schools need me to put in what the envelope contains (somewhere outisde, ex. Teacher Rec. )

They don't need the listing of contents but no harm if you choose to list it. As to mailing......be sure to have the USPS use traking mail so you can check on line when your application arrives.....it saves stress for you and doesn't cost that much. Good Luck and it sure feels good to mail them. You can also mail from any Kinko's.......it is just as easy and may be closer.

However, don't choose any tracking service that requires a signature at the end--many colleges have P.O boxes or something along those lines, so having to get a signature slows it down a lot. At my local post office, there was an option of tracking it by putting a barcode sticker on it and having the mailperson scan it when he/she puts it in the box at the other end, and that's what I did.
