On March 10th or 11th or 12th, when i receive my letters, will i be able to look at them and tell if i was accepted or rejected. I have heard that acceptances come in fat 8.5x11 packages while rejections come in little envelopes. Is it true? Sorry for the stupid question. Just had to know.

Take a gander at this article....

What to Do with Those Admission and Acceptance Letters - Peterson's

Yes, for the most part, fat and large is accepted, thin is a rejection or waitlist.

I am so excited!

With me, I could tell by looking. The difference between an acceptance and a rejection, anyway.

A lot of schools let you know by e-mail. My son was away on March 10th (horrors)! and he did not want us to check his e-mail without him. The school did send and e-mail...the subject line was "A note from the Admissions office!" which did sound positive-exclamation point and all. When he got home the next day, he opened it and it was all music and hurrah...a little e-card thing. Very exciting.
The fat envelope came the following Monday (March 10th was a Saturdy last year).
Also...at our particular school....the sort of let me know in advance. When I said my son would not be home on March 10th (I had called to ask if they were overnighting decisions for March10th), they asked me my son's name and suggested we go online at midnight and "plan a little party". So, I guess I knew in advance, but wouldn't believe it until we got the actual notice!

I'm so obsessed with the prep school admissions. I literally check this site at least once an hour. For the past week or so, I have been dreaming about the prep schools every night. I worry about them constantly, too! Any ideas on how to get them off of my mind? I hope this does not last until March 10!!!

My acceptance came in a little envolope

bags, i have exactly the same problem, so, once all my applications are off, i have decided to obsessively excercise and start writing a novel!!! haha. so i dunno, i know i'm going to be flipping out the entire time!

Watch for me on the news while I try to find a cure for cancer.

haha, yeah, i'll find a cure for aids! then they'll have to accept us to their schools!
