<p>I'm doing a completely random poll that is solely procrastination material (I'm supposed to be writing the first edition of my column for my school's paper which is due tomorrow). </p>
<p>Why (or why not, I guess) do you care about the environment? I have my own reasons, but I'm interested in hearing from others.</p>
<p>Because I like breathing air and drinking water that won't kill me.</p>
<p>It's a respect thing, too. We may be the dominant species, but we're not the only one. We ought to show a little respect for the other living creatures on this Earth, and do our best to keep it a safe place for them.</p>
