Environmental Engineer, Best job prospects, but no info.

Hi,
I've been looking at various careers and have to decide between pharmacy and engineering. Theres not much info about environmental engineers out there... Could someone post pages about their job and krap? Also is it easier or harder then civil engineering? I heard they spend 1/4 of their time working outdoors, does that apply to all specalties of environmental engineering?

Also what are the specialties of environmental engineering? The ones working in waste-water treatment don't have to stick their hands in krap to get a sample of the water do they? What environmental engineering specialty will have the most jobs/be in highest demand.

Also I noticed theres different majors for environmental engineering like environmental health engineering, environmental systems engineering, and just plain environmental engineering. Should I triple major? I'm so confused, help!

Any info you'd like to add I'd very much appreciate.

Have you checked out the BLS Occupational Outlook Handbook site?

they stick their head in the water and taste test it to see if there is KRAP with a K in it...i think you should should at least think about a quadruple or sextuple major if you even want to get anywhere in life

Yes I checked out the BLS gov info...

ummmm... Bump.....

My grandfather is an environmental engineer, and that's what I'm studying for too. In his line of work it's mostly pollution testing. It's for a major stone quarrying company so he goes in to see how much the company pollutes each year. Now the state sets limits on pollution, so a lot of his work also involves going to state legislature to try and convince them that the company needs to pollute "x" amount in order to be efficient.
