I very much interested in environmental engineering. The type of EnvEn that I would like to go into is not related to the civil engineering with an environmental concentration. For me, it's been hard to find schools that fit my criteria. Even schools that list the program as one of their degrees don't really have it. I live on the East Coast in Upstate New York, and I don't want to go too far away. Schools I have looked at and am going to apply to are Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), Cornell (it's my reach school.. I'm applying through CALS school), SUNY ESF, and University of Vermont (UVM). The environmental schools in Maine I like but are 8 hours away, and I can't handle that. Also, I would prefer to go to a medium school but that's not a requirement. At RIT, their program is more business, economic, etc. and less construction. I'm hoping to do more of the business, finding ways to implement environmental programs in businesses and being sort of a lobbyist. I would like the school to also have a strong focus on the environment, not just a small department, but the whole school committed to an environmental philosophy so to speak. I wasn't sure if four was enough. Does anyone else have other suggestions? If you're also interested in the program and have similar requirements, please comment and reply. If you're in the program or have graduated with a degree in this, please comment and reply. I'm a good student with about a 3.9 GPA, good extracurricular activities with a focus in the program I'm interest in, and average SAT/ACT scores. My ideal college states are New York and Vermont, but I'm open to Pennsylvania, Ohio, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. I've even looked at the Canadian schools, but they require too much on my part, like taking the AP classes (which I have taken 7 APs, but not the right ones apparently for the program). HELP!

so you’ve had a look at the ABET-accredited Environmental Engineering schools? there aren’t many of them.

how do they compare with what you want to do in EnvE? all schools will make some claims to being green, but check out the ones who are building green. My favorite is UC Boulder, where I went.

Here’s a listing of colleges with ABET accredited Environmental Engineering programs (such as UC Boulder). Select program area (Environmental Engineering) and then search.

Lots of options in NY, NJ, PA, NH, etc. Good Luck!
