I was thinking about college majors (again) and stumbled on environmental engineering. I think it might be a good fit for me but I’m still super indecisive as usual.
I have always loved science. I am a junior in high school. I took an engineering class last year and enjoyed most of it except for the unit on CAD. How much CAD is involved in environmental engineering?
This year I took honors physics and AP environmental science. My teacher for environmental science is awful. She just hands out packets, doesn’t say when they’re due, and takes points off if you turn them in “late.” Because of this I have a C+ at the moment. I love the subject though, and I’m pretty confident I can study enough on my own to pass the AP test.
I am a little behind in math for my age because my school changed the curriculum around (long story). Anyway, I can’t take calculus next year, so I’ll have to just settle for precalc. Will this hinder me in an environmental engineering major? Will I be able to catch up?
I love my physics class but because I’m behind in math, I can’t take AP physics C next year. So I’m taking AP physics II instead.
Is this a good plan given my circumstances? Is environmental engineering even a good major? What kind of stuff would I be doing in a job in this field?
