Hey guys,

I'm having a dilemma with choosing which school to attend next fall as a transfer student due to the difference in majors. I narrowed down my choices to Civil Engineering @ UCD and Environmental Engineering Science @ UCB. My plan has been to major in civil engineering with an emphasis in environmental and then get my masters in Environmental Engineering from a prestigious school.

I liked the idea of civil engineering with enviro. emphasis because it seems fairly broad I feel I can expand on it with EnvE in graduate school more easily. UCD seems like a good school as well and I have the option of taking geotechnical engr courses as well which may help me refine exactly what I want to do.

Though Berkeley is my dream school, but I feel the major may not be everything I believe it to be. Will I have trouble getting my master's in environmental engineering or another engineering by taking this major as my undergraduate? I'm kind of confused on the major and whether it falls under ABET accreditation or if it is more of just a precursor to a master's program.

Also Berkeley is my #1 choice for grad school so would I increase my chances for getting in by attending UCB for undergrad as well?

Thanks for reading and hopefully giving insight! :)
