Environmental Engineering

I am going to be a Senior in a couple months, and I am unsure on my major. I posted my original query in the "Other College Majors" section, but I figured this would be more appropriate for Environmental Engineering. I am not too sure what differentiates Environmental Engineering from other majors, or what exactly it is.

I am interested in bioremedation, waste management, and pollutant containment. I have 3 questions. What is Environmental Engineering, and what are the career possibilities for it? And are my interests best suited for Environmental Engineering or some other degree?

Thanks.

Go for it. Environmental Engineering is pretty cool. But look around at colleges, because it’s kind of a rare major. Civil engineering is similar to it, and you can likely switch between the two in your career. Environmental engineering usually requires a bunch of broad science classes too (bio, geo, chem, phys). Civil covers alot of environmental stuff, but also covers structures and buildings. Just google around, and find some info.
