Would majoring in Environmental Science be a good major to become an animal conservationist?

Yes, Environmental Science would be a good major but it would have a broader focus than you might want. What is you home state?? UC Davis in California has a Wildlife,Fish and Animal Biology major or Animal Biology which might be a better focus. They also have 6 other Environmental Science majors in their College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences.

Your best bet is to check the Land Grant school for your state (like UC Davis), often within the College of Ag. Most states have very good programs in these areas and it is often not necessary to go OOS to find a good program unless you want to experience a different geography…

Majors might be something like…

Fish and Wildlife Biology
Forestry
Natural Resource Conservation
Wildlife Habitat Ecology
Wildlife Habitat Biology
Wildland Restoration

Thank you! I will look into UC Davis
