Environmental Science Recipe for Success?

I'm planning to self study for the ES exam.

Is there any combination of prep books for Environmental Science that would cover everything that is on the AP Exam? From the reviews and discussions that I have been reading, there seems to be a lack of comprehensive prep material for the ES exam. If you could buy up to 3 prep books, which ones would you buy?

If there isn't a good combination out there, I think I'll just go ahead and buy an actual textbook.

any input would be appreciated!

I just used PR and it was enough.

is PR enough for a 5?

Yeah, really, you don’t need three books at all. Or a textbook. Just get Barron’s.

Hi there!

I’m taking AP Environ. Sci. too. What I am doing is taking good notes in class, asking questions when I can’t understand something, using my supplemental review book * I bought Barron’s * , and “actively” reading my textbook.

By active I mean asking questions and trying to figure them out by reading the text. It works really well. Look, what you have to do is not just read a chapter page by page. You really have to grasp the meaning of it so turn section titles into questions. Example: Let’s say you are reading a chapter with a section on rock formation. The section title is called: Ways rocks are formed. Well turn the title into a question: How are rocks formed? Then you read the text and figure out the answer to the question. This really works. However, if a section is too big, try making 2 or more smaller questions to cover all the info. After you figure out the answer, write the question and answer on a sheet of paper and do this for every section of every chapter. Come test time, you will already have a handy study guide to review for those BIG tests. These and other techniques are things you must develop to succeed in a college class. Try whatever works for you. You can even adjust the technique I said above to fit YOUR needs.

Good luck!!

i used barrons pr, and the smartypants guide and got a 5. Pr and smartypants were just a more condensed version of the barrons, so imo just get the barrons
