Environmental Science

Hi everyone,

My intended major in college is Environmental Sciences (of the College of Arts and Sciences at UA), and I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the ES major at Alabama. I qualify for the Presidential Scholarship, which is why Alabama is one of my top choices, but I can’t find a lot of information about their ES program.

I have read here on CC somewhere that UA has decent programs in some subfields of environmental science although it lacks highly quantitative ES or related major courses.

Is there anyone who knows anything about this program that could weigh in and give some advice? I love the merit aid at Alabama and the school sounds great, but I’m wondering if I should really look elsewhere with my intended major.

Thanks in advance!

See this link for more info on the Environmental Science Major:

I know the requirements for the major, I was just hoping to see if anyone had any feedback on the program at Alabama, or personal advice about this.

I don’t know much about the program, but if you are wanting something more quantitative, I suggest Alabama’s BS in Environmental Engineering instead. An engineering degree will look better for post grad employment as well.

I agree. The enviroE is more marketable.
