Eop/heop

Anyone know if Cornell requires an interview for their H/EOP hopefuls?

Yes, its a special heop interview not the alumni ones. If you had an alumni one, you still have to have an heop one. Keep your eyes open in the next 2 weeks, if you dont hear anything by the 20th, its pretty much a rejection

^ I’m pretty sure there isn’t based on the people I know in the program.
Unless all of them I know are special cases…

so how do they contact you for an interview?

i was wondering this too, but i haven’t found any info about it on their website

im pretty sure that if they dont contact you by the 20th its not a rejection cause fn aid studd wasn’t due until the 15th that is today

ok so kidding, i called them and there is an interview and it is required! sooooo i guess im going to get rejected lol
i just dont get how they’re going to conduct interviews when HEOP fn aid materials were due by the 15th…

well, I didn’t get contact either. But I think they do because other schools with heop such as Fordham and NYU, have interviews with their heop applicants. Cornell is a highly ranked school. It should have the interviews too.

There’s still a chance since heop acceptance is different than regular. They can wait till march 2X and still give it in. They give phone interviews btw

I emailed the State Programs Office sometime this week and they told me that HEOP didn’t give interviews. >.> I am sooooo confused right now -_-

i just called, they said its not required BUT they might suggest one for you therfore contact you…and it really isint required and btw i had my fordham heop interview like three weeks ago…so since i still didnt hear back from cornell, i think i got rejected :'(

Actually I called the H/EOP office and they said “THERE IS NEITHER OBLIGED INTERVIEW NOR INVITATIONAL INTERVIEW”. So there you go, now this matter is settled. Did you know that H/EOP applicant will ONLY be notified of their acceptance through snail mail?

What did I say :)

@raezin, does that mean h/eop applicants that get accepted to cornell won’t be finding out on april 1st at 5pm like everyone else?

LOL you have to have an interview for heop. The process is done already so they tell obsessed kids who dont have the stats like yourselves that interviews arent required.

If you get accepted into heop without an interview, I’ll never post on cc again. How I know? I have friends who got accepted into columbia and cornell heop

^Get ready to never post again :slight_smile:
Btw, I know more than half of the kids in that program because I did PSP with them.

If your applying for eop which is the state schools, you dont need an interview. If your applying to heop which is the private schools, you have to have one;

that sounds releastic ^^

@Ones

The NYU HEOP program interviewed NONE of us during their information session, so I don’t know where you’re getting your information from but not ALL HEOP programs at private universities are the same. I already know one student from my school accepted to NYU HEOP and she wasn’t interviewed, neither was I.

so, has anyone heard from heop?
