Hello, I was recently looking over my ePal awards and I found it peculiar that my Cal Grant and Pell Grant were not among them. I called the UCLA Financial Aid Office and was told that this is provisional; however, for other schools, I did see those two grants listed. Will I still receive them for UCLA?

Also, could someone please explain to me in layman's terms what the USHIP grant is?

Thank you!

It might be that your CalGrant and Pell Grant amounts were bundled into some other item in your ePAL (like into a University Grant?). But the FAO is always the best source for information because information from anyone else is just speculation or spread through word of mouth. I would be more concerned if the total amount of aid offered is enough to attend.

The USHIP grant seems to be something new. I’ve never heard of it before, but it seems to be money given to offset the cost of health insurance at the school.

Thanks for the reply. However, I don’t think that’s the case since the money I was offered through the scholarship recognition award is less than what Cal Grant A offered.
