Epgy 2012

Has anyone applied? Just curious.

I will in a couple days. Just polishing my essays. What about you?

And is feb 29 the postmarked deadline or the application has to reach their office by then?

Oh i applied early for a fee waiver. Decisions come out today. :p

Oh. All the best, then. And let us know the decision!

I got accepted into Session 2 - Discrete Mathematics :)!

Now I just have to wait for the financial aid package…T_T

Accepted to Session 1 - Artificial Intelligence.

And same, gotta wait for my finaid package :P

Got accepted into Session 1 - 20th Century Science, Technology, and Culture.
And the waiting comes again. TT_TT

I’m so excited for this. Hopefully I can at least get a half scholarship D: Are any of you guys in socal?

Northeast native here. Does anyone who attended the program in the past have any experience with fin aid? Is it mainly based on need?

Does anyone know how selective this program is?
I got accepted into Environmental Earth Science Session two, and I’m not sure to pick this one or wait for Cosmos to decide.

Congrats all of you! Does anyone know how selective are admissions in the Regular round?

I personally think you should pick EPGY @dartmoorpony666. Instructors at Stanford are better and if you applied for finaid, it’s cheaper than COSMOS  I heard you just fool around at COSMOS anyways. My brother did that program a couple years back.

Just curious, how many of you attached extra sheets for any of the written responses?

i didnt attach anything just used the space.
got into session 2- Artificial Intelligence.
im also debating because this is ea, and i’ve heard a lot of things about EPGY being the “rich person’s school”, which im a little skeptical of, should i just take my chances with the other programs im applying to (COSMOS, HSMC, YSP, SUMAC, PROMYS).
Im a HS sophomore 4.2 GPA weighted, taken hpc, ap chem, ap stats, qualified for AIME on the AMC, 2330 SAT, panel music for piano, NCS swimming, and some other stuff that doesnt really matter. do u guys think i have a chance at some of those higher programs?

Lol i got into Ai too. I do think you qualify for other programs…

Anyone else get accepted?

Yeah I got accepted for java and robotics. I feel like this will be a great experience but it isn’t that prestigious. Anyone else agree or disagree?

It’s not prestigious but it would definitely be a worthy experience (I mean…stanford professors, come on). I applied for financial aid too  It’s not about prestige, it’s about experience! :P

Yeah I completely agree. It’ll be an experience of a lifetime. Are you already well-versed in programming to do AI or did u go to epgy last year? I wish I could do it cuz it looks awesome but I’m not old enough. Haha
