Which is more worthwhile? Has anybody been to both and can give me some perspective on which one was more worth going to? Thanks!

I doubt EPGY has much worth with regard to Stanford acceptance BUT it is a very fun program according to my son who has gone to the summer program for 3 years and really enjoyed it. I do not think it will have much influence on his Stanford app however, if that is what you mean by "worthwhile"

I haven't been to either as a student, but I can tell you some differences:

As I understand it, Summer College involves taking actual Stanford classes, whereas EPGY classes cover college-level material but are designed as enrichment classes for high school students.

Summer College is 8 weeks (I think); EPGY is 3 or 4, depending on the class.

EPGY counselors are much more involved with you academically. They double as tutors and teaching assistants for the courses. Summer College counselors are more like RA's.

EPGY students are kept on a much tighter leash (all of your time is structured except evenings and Sundays), but they are much better behaved. Alcohol use, for example, is extremely rare at EPGY, but somewhat more common at SSC (in both, you're kicked out if caught).

EPGY does little if anything to boost one's chances of getting into Stanford. I don't know much about whether or not SSC does.
