My daughter got accepted into Stanford EPGY Summer Program "Introduction to Bioscience and Biotechnolog". She is interested in Bio-medical and Bio-tech areas. Is this a good Summer Program to attend? Does anyone know how competitive it is? The price is very high (close to $4000).

She plans to take SAT test in October this year. Should she focus on SAT preparation or spend 3 weeks in the Summer Camp?

My friend got in. He's going to Stanford next year. He went and took a liberal arts class. It was a great experience and it shows colleges that your doing something with your summer, but dont expect it to help you in the admissions. My friend was deferred when he applied early action with an SAT score of 2390 and a GPA of probably around 97 (Plus he got a presidential award which is given to 10 kids in each state). It does give you something to write about in your essay though, but it wont help the admissions process much. If you have low SAT scores then take a prep class probably. I dont know about selectivity, but most colleges need to fill empty dorms during the summer.
